team
the nair lab is collective of computer scientists, engineers and biologists who collaborate very closely to answer fundamental questions at the intersection of neuroscience, social intelligence, AI safety and alignment.
research engineers
Nestor Coria
B.S Computer Science, Harvey Mudd College
Nestor is originally from California and completed his undergraduate degree at Harvey Mudd College. He worked at Caltech for two years as a Schmidt Scholar, a highly selective program aimed at improving software engineering in research labs. At the Nair lab, Nestor develops AI co-scientists who can help accelerate the pace of neuroscience research.
Caltech Schmidt Sciences Scholar
Pushkar Singh
B.S Psychology, Ahmedabad University
Pushkar completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology with Prof. Rama Ratnam at Ahmedabad University. He completed a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) at Caltech in 2025 and soon after joined the Nair Lab. Pushkar combines his interests in neuroscience and AI by creating new platforms and studying the multi-region control of affect/emotion.
Caltech SURF Fellow
Katherine Kudriatsev
B.S Comp. and Cognitive Neuroscience, UC Berkeley
Previous Research Associate, Helen Willis Neuroscience Institute
Katherine is a California native and completed a dual undergraduate program in computational and cognitive neuroscience at UC Berkeley. She brings a multitude of experience, from experimental neuroscience at the Adesnik lab, to overseeing PET pipelines at the Jagust lab at the Helen Willis Institute for Neuroscience.
graduate researchers
JiaQie studied Computer Science at UC Berkeley and worked at the Helen Willis Institute for Neuroscience for three years, studying patterns of neural activity in EEG and fMRI data using AI methods. She is co-advised by Prof. Cuntai Guan and is passionate about how neuroscience can contribute to AI safety and alignment.

JiaQie Lee
Graduate Student (NTU-IGP Neuroscience)
B.S Physics, NUS & University of Tokyo
Kin On Lau
Kin On studied Physics at Singapore’s NUS and also spent time at the University of Tokyo in Japan. He brings a deep interest in reinforcement learning (RL) and studies how emotion and social behavior can be understood using deep RL in mice and AI agents.
Senior Graduate Student (NTU-IGP Neuroscience)
Jeviko studied at i3L, a new research intensive university in Indonesia and worked for two years at A*STAR and LKCMedicine, where he mastered diverse experimental skillsets in systems neuroscience. At the Nairlab, he leads efforts to translate emotion studies into new models of psychiatric dysfunction.
